What is Chiropractic? Chiropractic is a system of health care that releases one of the most serious forms of stress from your body. Spinal subluxations are very common, often painless misalignments of the spine that cause nerve pressure and loss of health. This nerve pressure causes interference in the communication between the brain and the rest of the body. This results in dis-ease or lack of harmony and balance in your spine, muscles, internal organs and brain.
By removing the spinal subluxation the innate intelligence within your body will have the opportunity to create the best healing environment for your body to increase its own level of health.
All of this is done without the use of drugs, medicine, surgery or invasive tools and procedures.
Why go to a Chiropractor? There are many things that put stress on your body. Accidents, falls, sports injuries, poor posture and repetitive motion are examples of physical trauma that will cause the spine to subluxate. But have you ever considered the effects of emotional and chemical stress on your body?? These too put stress on the nervous system and impair the body's ability to heal itself. The mind and body are connected by the spinal cord; therefore, mental and chemical stressors can manifest themselves into poor posture, muscle spasms, pain and subluxation!
Many of these symptoms are routinely treated with drugs that not only mask the true problem, but act as toxins to the nervous system and cause additional side effects.
Chiropractors get to the cause of what is robbing you of your health. By correcting the spinal subluxation, your Doctor of Chiropractic promotes natural healing, vitality, strength and health.
What do Chiropractors do? Chiropractors are doctors of the nervous system. We work with the brain, spinal cord and all the nerves that travel throughout your body. The role of the nervous system is to run, control, coordinate every organ, muscle, system and cell in your body! It is the center of your thoughts, memory, learning and consciousness. How we access the nervous system is through the spine. Chiropractors spend 6 years of highly specialized training in order to locate where misplaced spinal vertebrae (subluxations) are impinging the nerves, causing loss of function and health to wherever that nerve is going. After locating the subluxtions, the Chiropractor uses various specific techniques to replace misplaced vertebrae and thus release pressure on the nerves. This is called a spinal adjustment.
What is a Chiropractic adjustment? An adjustment is a safe and gentle Chiropractic procedure used to eliminate or reduce a subluxation. An adjustment helps restore proper motion and alignment to a joint and helps normalize neurological activity o f the muscles surrounding the joint. Adjustments are key to preventing degenerative changes in the spine and are crucial for optimal health and well being.
How do I know if I should see a Chiropractor? Doctors of Chiropractic do not cure disease but look to the cause of the dis-ease.
·Back and Neck Pain ·Asthma & Allergies ·Chronic Headaches ·Joint Pain & Stiffness ·Numbness & Tingling ·Knee and Foot Pain ·Digestive Problems ·Migraines & TMJ ·Scoliosis ·Poor Healing Ability
Is Chiropractic Care Safe? Chiropractic is the safest of the healing professions. Chiropractors have the lowest malpractice insurance of any of the major health professions because Chiropractic care is very safe and effective. Chiropractic is safer than aspirin! It can help prevent the need for invasive procedures and harmful or addictive drugs.
Is Chiropractic Care Cost Effective? Many studies in recent years show that for many conditions, Chiropractic is by far the most cost-effective treatment available. In fact, people who use Chiropractic care regularly, spend less on all healthcare expenses simply because they are healthier and have less illness and injury. The Journal of American Health Policy reported in 1992, after a review of data from over 2,000,000 users of Chiropractic care in the U.S. that "Chiropractic care reduces the use of both physician and hospital care."
